Soil carbon focus for postdoctoral research role at Curtin
CURTIN University is inviting applications for a four-year postdoctoral research role in its Soil and Landscape Science Laboratory Team.
The role will support an Australian Research Council Discovery Project to investigate how native plant biodiversity can recarbonise degraded soils and strengthen climate resilience.
The successful candidate will lead the analytical and field components of this innovative project, directing investigations across restoration chronosequences and developing mesocosm experiments. Their work will span field sampling in semi arid landscapes, advanced soil organic carbon fractionation, and molecular to nano scale characterisation using cutting edge technologies.
They will also have opportunities to collaborate with researchers at Murdoch University, The University of Western Australia and ETH Zurich to apply new understanding on soil-plant interactions and modelling that predicts long term carbon sequestration.
Applications close Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
