Abstract

Deep ripping alone may not overcome topsoil water repellence and improve water infiltration in severely repellent sands. Overcoming soil water repellence through deeper subsoil mixing using a rotary spader or modified oneway disc plough improved water infiltration, the evenness of soil wetting and weed control.
