AGGREGATE: NEWS & EVENTS
World Soil Day event tickets available
ATTENTION scientists, researchers, agronomists, industry professionals, students – and anyone else who might be invested in the future of Western Australian soils.
A limited number of tickets to SoilsWest’s World Soil Day event at Murdoch University on Thursday, December 4 are now available.
SoilsWest is hosting the event in partnership with the Grower Group Alliance’s South-West WA Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub.
The event will be held on the eve of the international celebration, which recognises the role soils play in agricultural development, ecosystem functions and food security.
Locally, we welcome a soils forum that will focus on Western Australian agriculture and explore our progress in addressing government and industry priorities.
The forum will include presentations from organisations targeting solutions to grower and industry-identified challenges.
Presenters include:
- Emeritus Professor Lyn Abbott, The University of Western Australia
- Associate Professor Hanabeth Luke, Murdoch University
- Dr Jo Wisdom, Grower Group Alliance’s South-West WA Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub
- Mr Peter Bird, Grains Research and Development Corporation
You will then be invited to contribute to a facilitated workshop aimed at identifying and mapping the opportunities over the next five years.
The afternoon will conclude with refreshments and networking.
