Stephen Davies

research scientist at department of primary industries and regional development
Research focuses on i) providing practical tools and options for grain growers to better manage water repellent soils and ii) interactions and importance of other soil and agronomic constraints associated with WA’s sandplain soils. Based at DAFWA in Geraldton, I lead an integrated soil water repellence research project with partners at CSIRO, Murdoch University, University of South Australia and grower groups to further develop and improve the grains industry’s understanding and management of water repellent soils. Key expertise in soil water repellence, compaction, subsoil acidity, subsoil constraints, soil amelioration, soil inversion, rotary spading, claying, soil wetting agents, industry development, grains research.
