professor at university of western australia
Mohammed Bennamoun is currently a Winthrop Professor at the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering at The University of Western Australia. His primary research and development is in computer vision (object recognition and biometrics), robotics, machine/deep learning, signal/image processing, artificial neuron networks, control theory and artificial intelligence. Initial work related to soil is in developing novel methods for identifying gravel components of soil and estimates for bulk density using recognition software in collaboration with DAFWA’s Dr Craig Scanlan. His areas of interest include control theory, robotics, obstacle avoidance, object recognition, artificial neural networks, signal/image processing and computer vision (particularly 3D).
