WESTERN Australian farmers are encouraged to express their interest in soil testing programs provided by their state and federal governments.

The 2026-27 programs aim to support farmers to make informed fertiliser decisions to ensure nutrients stay on the farm and out of waterways and estuaries.

The Healthy Estuaries WA program (Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Department of Water and Environmental Regulation) is open to beef, dairy and sheep grazing enterprises that are over 40 hectares of arable land, and in eligible catchments.

Enterprises outside of the eligible catchments may be considered for the Soils – New Horizons program (Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry).

Expressions of interest close on July 22, 2026.
