Integrated Nutrient Management with David Hardwick
Torbay Catchment Group is hosting a nutrient management workshop with Soil Land Food‘s David Hardwick on Thursday, July 9 from 9.15am till 3pm.
The hands-on workshop will explore how nutrients cycle and how to manage them more effectively.
The day will involve:
1. Understanding nutrients and how they cycle – with a focus on N, K and S
2. Why soil biology and healthy plants are essential for effective nutrient management
3. The nutrient cycling capacity of your soil
4. The 5 Nutrient Buckets Model for thinking about and managing soil nutrients
5. Using soil tests, tissue tests and visual diagnosis for assessing nutrients
6. Integrated nutrient management: the steps to success
7. Options for managing nutrients.
**Please bring some recent soil test results, and a cube of intact topsoil (approx. 20 cm x 20 cm)**
