Key capability in identifying soil chemical and physical limitations to crop growth, applying and testing soil management solutions, developing and leading projects with industry, extending information to the agricultural and scientific communities. My current focus is on subsoil constraints to production which costs grain growers more than a billion dollars in lost production each year. The Subsoil Constraints project is jointly funded with GRDC ($4.4 million) and partners with CSIRO, grower groups and commercial companies.
